<strong style="font-weight:700;">Job Title: Mechanical & Robotics Technician</strong><br /><strong>Job Description</strong><p>The Mechanical & Robotics Technician supports the operations and maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging, distribution, and material handling equipment in a large, high-speed, robotics-driven facility. This role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with a strong emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance, safe work practices, and continuous improvement. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior technicians and further develop your skills through formal training on advanced automation and robotic equipment.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Promote a safe working environment by consistently following all safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.</li><li>Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance routines on material handling equipment and automated systems, ensuring all work is properly documented.</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related components.</li><li>Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotic components.</li><li>Use diagnostic testing methods and tools to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.</li><li>Conduct inspections, run diagnostics, and create work orders to track issues, repairs, and parts usage in alignment with maintenance procedures.</li><li>Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work, track preventive maintenance, and manage parts and inventory.</li><li>Track, organize, and store department inventory, parts, and tools to ensure availability and efficient workflow.</li><li>Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic principles to troubleshoot basic input and output functions and support system reliability.</li><li>Follow Material Handling Equipment safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer guidelines and applicable safety standards.</li><li>Collaborate and maintain a positive working relationship with operations and maintenance teams across the facility.</li><li>Mentor and support junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work habits.</li><li>Perform metal and wood fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment repairs and modifications.</li><li>Meet physical demands of the role, including repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, standing, and walking for extended periods.</li><li>Lift parts and tools averaging 20 pounds and occasionally up to 49 pounds as part of daily maintenance activities.</li><li>Work in varied conditions including small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot and cold temperatures (inside and outside), noise, vibration, and wet or uneven surfaces.</li><li>Stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 10–12 hours, including on concrete surfaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Use PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to communicate, document work, and support reporting requirements.</li><li>Travel up to approximately 20% as needed to support operations at other facilities.</li></ul><strong>Essential Skills</strong><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Ability to work flexible schedules, shifts, and areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays.</li><li>At least 2 years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures on complex systems and industrial equipment.</li><li>Experience performing equipment maintenance, including running diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and creating work orders.</li><li>Hands-on experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related components.</li><li>Mechanical troubleshooting skills for material handling equipment and automated systems.</li><li>Experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems in an industrial or distribution environment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.</li><li>Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles sufficient to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.</li><li>Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment safety standards (preferred).</li><li>Formal technical training, apprenticeship, certifications, military training, or hands-on training related to maintenance fields (preferred).</li><li>2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls (preferred).</li><li>2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (preferred).</li><li>2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures (preferred).</li><li>1 year of metal and wood fabrication experience (preferred).</li><li>1 year of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics (preferred).</li><li>1 year of experience applying electrical and electronic principles in troubleshooting (preferred).</li><li>Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).</li><li>Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.</li><li>Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments working on complex systems and industrial equipment, particularly conveyors (highly preferred).</li><li>Experience in automotive, military, or industrial facilities maintenance performing diagnostics, inspections,
